Teresa White shares the good news with us

Just to let you all know that the first Selsey Business Awards were held last night, all glitz and glamour, black tie and long frocks, in Selsey at Bunn Leisure. We had a great meal and then the awards for which Selsey and Manhood Fibromyalgia Support had been nominated.

We hoped perhaps we had won a bronze or even a silver, BUT WE WON GOLD, as best voluntary group in Selsey!!!
To say Hazel and myself were gob-smacked would be an understatement.
Spirit FM presented a lovely glass trophy and certificate, no money unfortunately, but the raising of awareness and what it will do locally for fibro is worth pounds.

Pics will be in the Chichester Observer next week,we are the ones with the look of shock on our faces.  For those of you with local knowledge, we beat the Snak Shak, who got silver.

I can only say thank you to all those who voted for us, we must be doing something right, big thank you to Hazel for coming with me and making the evening entertaining with all the chatting we got done!

I will add that the glass, and very heavy, award its self is engraved and they have spelt 'fibromyalgia' with a y, fybromyalgia, but to me this just symbolises how little and how unrecognised this syndrome is and I won't get it redone as a reminder of how hard we have got to work to get fibro out there, so that its always spelt properly in the future.
Take care all and keep at it, all your hard work will pay off in the end, Teresa xx
