Janan (aka Pocket Rocket) was brave to take part in a charity boxing match to raise funds for FMA UK. It took place on Saturday 1/11/14 at Saturday at Preston North End Stadium,
Janan said after the match:
Just to update you in my charity boxing match, I raised £375 for FMAUK, the bonus was I won my charity boxing match. It will rank as one of the toughest things I have done, it was one heck of a fight, very close on points with us both exchanging punches. Opponent and I both rocked in the ring, both of us raising money for different charities, we both won on the night. It was an experience that still hasn't quite sunk in.
Our thanks goto Janan for the fundraising effort, the awareness that has been raised and the dedication to take part in this sort of event on behalf of FMA UK.
FMA UK is represented with EULAR and PARE through our membership of ARMA and ENFA. To be entered into this competition you will need to get your entry into FMA UK by 21st December so that we can ensure it is with ARMA by the deadline.
This is another opportunity to ensure fibromyalgia has a voice as essays will be read by many professionals and if someone with FM actually wins they will receive their prize at the EULAR conference which is attended by thousands of rheumatologists.
If you want to represent fibromyalgia in the Virgin London Marathon we want to hear from you. FMA UK has been lucky enough to secure just one place in the Virgin Money London Marathon 2015. We entered a charity ballot for this place and will not be able to enter again until 2017 so we have to make this one count.
If your passion is running and you want to support us in our quest to make sure everyone with fibromyalgia receives effective treatment, this is your chance.
You will need to pay a £100 registration fee and pledge to raise at least £1000 using virginmoneygiving.com. Unfortunately, we cannot refund this fee if you change your mind after entry or drop out of the race.
You need to apply by 15th November 2014. A decision will be made by the 30th November and the registration fee will be due at that time or the place will be given to another applicant.

The British Pain Society Patient Liaison Committee is looking for new members to join the committee.
We would just like to wish the South Gloucestershire Group a HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY and to say thank you for providing support, fun and information to people in their area over this time.
