We have a variety of methods for getting information out including our magazine and the website. However we also offer regular monthly email newsletters with content from the site and timely news. We also send out a newsletter to groups about what FMA UK has been doing and this is included here as well.
FMA UK Newsletter Winter 2011
Last Updated on Saturday, 21 January 2012 23:15 Written by Des Quinn (A) Saturday, 14 January 2012 16:19
Welcome to the winter newsletter from the trustees of FMA UK. A PDF version of the original Winter Newsletter can be found here. Our Trustee newsletters attempt to bring a view of what the trustees have been engaged in since the previous newsletter. We are the first to admit that these newsletters are not as frequent as we would like but we will try to keep you all as informed as we can. This newsletter covers the past 6 months and also gives an insight into some of the activities that we have planned for the coming year. We hope to have an exciting, busy and eventful year ahead of us. We also hope to engage with more people and have more volunteers helping out with the charity. We can only achieve our goals if we have the people to share the work.
Of course if anyone has any questions or something to help the charity then please do get in touch with a Trustee or Regional Coordinator.
Many thanks
Board of Trustees

Welcome to the second newsletter from the trustees of FMA UK. Below we have outlined what we have been doing over the last six months.
Trustees
As a result of the recent resignation of Roger Leadbeater, there are now just 4 trustees with the following responsibilities:
| Pam Stewart MBE | Chair |
| Des Quinn |
Vice Chair and Webmaster |
| Janet Horton |
Benefits Helpline |
| Gerry Crossley |
National Helpline coordinator |
The trustees will seek a new treasurer as soon as possible and would welcome applications from volunteers with previous financial experience..
Fibromyalgia media coverage
The Guardian carried a cynical article on whiplash injuries by ‘Dr.Crippin’ on 2nd March. The article ended by saying: “Family doctors in the UK usually find that patients who have no objective signs of physical injury, but still present with persistent symptoms that they relate to "whiplash", often have more subtle and possibly psychological problems. They may even be on the slippery slope to "fibromyalgia" – whatever that is. There is any amount of bad medical science upon which both doctors and patients rely.”

The Board of Trustees of Fibromyalgia Association UK have recognised the need to keep Regional Coordinators and members of local support groups updated with information about the work that they are undertaking on behalf of people with fibromyalgia and their carers.
This will take the form of a Newsletter which will be published twice a year and circulated to all local groups via their own Regional Coordinators. Below is an outline of what has been happening since the Group Leaders’ Meeting in May, 2009.
