Petition: Improvement of services & resources for chronic pain

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

The Scottish Cross Party Parliamentary Group on Chronic Pain are petititioning the Scottish Parliament to improve the services and resources for chronic pain management, including establishing a residential pain unit in Scotland.

At present, patients from Scotland are referred to the residential unit in Bath.  Having a similar unit in Scotland will not only reduce costs, but will free up the beds used for patients in England & Wales.

Please can everyone use social media and their networks to encourage people to sign this petition and if you have a website perhaps create a space to publish this petition.

Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to (a) hold a debate on the matter with a vote or voting rights (b) transfer more of the management for chronic pain into primary care (c) provide more social model care instead of medical model  (d) change its policy to provide direct funding to ensure radical improvements to the service can be made including establishing a residential unit in Scotland to prevent Scottish pain patients being sent to Bath in Somerset for treatment
