Running For Fibromyalgia: Ella Daly-Wells' Story

This year, one of our incredible supporters, Ella Daly-Wells, is taking on the Great North Run to raise both awareness and essential funds for Fibromyalgia Action UK, a cause that is very close to her heart.

“Hi, my name's Ella. This year, I will be running the Great North Run to fundraise for Fibromyalgia Action UK.

I am hoping to raise awareness and funds for a charity close to my heart, running in support of my lovely mam, who was diagnosed with this illness 5 years ago after years of unexplained illness.

While Fibromyalgia makes her day-to-day life more challenging than I could imagine, she is always an amazing mam and my inspiration in all that I do.

I hope that my fundraising will help improve the lives of people with Fibromyalgia and make a difference for other people battling this illness.”

Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes widespread pain, fatigue, and cognitive difficulties. Often described as an "invisible illness," it can have a serious impact on daily life, even though those affected may not always appear unwell. It affects millions of people, yet remains poorly understood and under-recognised.

Ella’s story is one of love, strength, and commitment. By running in honour of her mother, she is not only taking on a physical challenge but also helping to raise the profile of a condition that deserves more attention and support.

You can help Ella make a real difference by donating to her fundraiser at www.justgiving.com/page/ella-daly-wells-1741000140814.
