World Scleroderma Day Conference - 20/06/15

We are delighted to announce that this year’s conference, in aid of World Scleroderma Day,  will be a joint event held by The Scleroderma Society and the RSA on Saturday 20th June, in Manchester.

This year’s theme, UNVEILED, aims to reveal treatments and topics to help those with the conditions, share information, hear about the latest news and research into the conditions, learn some self management tips and techniques and experience some treatments whilst enjoying yourselves by catching up with old friends …and making new ones.

We are delighted to host internationally-renowned speakers including Professors Ariane Herrick and Christopher Denton and we also have a series of engaging talks during the day about both conditions, how children and young people are affected and a session on shared decision making with and for the patient.

You will have opportunities to talk - and find out more - about digital ulcers, skincare, gastrointestinal tract, nutrition, pulmonary hypertension and breathlessness .

An interesting session looking at research and future treatments and emerging therapies will bring us up to date with the latest thinking. In addition, a range of experienced Doctors, Clinical Specialist Nurses, Allied Health Professionals and Practitioners within the field of scleroderma & Raynaud’s are joining us and will be on hand throughout the day.

During the lunchtime break you can explore and try out a range of practical sessions in skincare, Keith Hunt MBE, massage therapist will be joining us along with other exhibitors with hints, tips and products designed to help you.

This year the conference is FREE to members of the RSA & SS, and costs just £20 to non-members.

We would also like to invite you to our Gala Dinner at The Macdonald Hotel. The dinner that evening will give you an opportunity to reflect on the day and enjoy meeting others in an informal setting. There will be some light entertainment from 7pm, a 4 course dinner and later the charities would like to give out a number of awards in the following categories: volunteer of the year; local support group of the year; fundraiser of the year; supporter of the year; supplier of the year; and a prize to the World Scleroderma Day art competition winner.

Tickets for our evening event are priced at £40 per person.

We would be delighted if you would attend both occasions, to find out more information, view the latest programme of events here and book your place by going to the bookings page here, today. Alternatively, call the RSA office on 01270 872776 to pay with a debit/ credit card.
