Volunteer with FMA UK

We believe it is vital that people with fibromyalgia and others who want to help us are given the opportunity to contribute their skills and experience. FMA UK is run by volunteers, most of whom have fibromyalgia themselves. Whether you have specialist skills to offer or simply want to make a difference, we would love to hear from you.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete our volunteer enquiry form and tell us about the skills and experience you can share. Our volunteer coordinator will be in touch to have a chat about how you might be able to help.

Current volunteer opportunities

We welcome applications from people with a variety of skills and backgrounds. Below are some of the key areas where we currently need support:

Helpline volunteer

Help people with fibromyalgia, their families, health professionals and others by answering calls on our national helpline. This is a rewarding role that allows you to use your listening and communication skills to make a real difference. We provide training and support for all helpline volunteers.

Social media moderator

Help manage our social media channels and support our online community. This role involves moderating posts and comments, ensuring our community remains a safe and supportive space for people affected by fibromyalgia.

Trustee

Do you have experience as a treasurer, board member or charity volunteer? Are you a professional looking to give back? We are looking for trustees with a range of backgrounds and expertise to help guide the charity. No prior experience is essential; we welcome applications from anyone with enthusiasm and commitment to our mission.

Writer or editor

Can you write about fibromyalgia? Edit other people's contributions? Interview people and bring their stories to life? We are always looking for writers and editors to help create high-quality content for our information materials, newsletters and website.

Other skills

We welcome enquiries from people with other skills that could benefit FMA UK. If you have experience in areas such as fundraising, graphic design, project management, marketing or anything else you think might help us, please do get in touch.
